Description:Excerpt from Spiritualism on Trial: Containing the Arguments of Rev. F. W. Evans in the Debate on Spiritualism Between Him and Mr. A. J. Fishback, Held in Osceola, Iowa, Commencing Nov. 18, and Closing Nov. 28, 1874I am creditably informed that, while Mr. F ishback was here, writing his speeches, he complained greatly of the mental labor to which it subjected him, seem ing to forget that it was the result of his own nu provoked challenge to a debate, for which he said he was unprepared; and that while he was run ning from place to place, delivering his stereotyped lectures, I was adding, to the work of months, a diligent and almost incessant toil in preparation; that after the debate, while he was still lecturing, I continued to labor, writing out my speeches, and that I was working as hard as he was all the time he was here writing.
