An effort has also been made to trace the history of the family back to the year 1732. Its preparation has been attended with considerable labor and expense in securing definite and reliable information of the facts therein contained. Thanks to all who have lent their aid in the work thus far. There will doubtless be some mistakes for want of information; many interesting facts might have been added had they been known to the writer. He has done the best he could do with the information furnished, and this work is submitted to the charitable judgment of all concerned, in hopes that a more careful preservation of records may be kept in the future.
