The setting is such that anyone can find something to be a part of. If you look for almost anything, you can probably find it on campus or within an hour’s drive. Though the students of TCU do not make up a terribly diverse population, the campus environment is still very open and friendly. People are accepted regardless of ethnic, gender, or class distinctions, despite the fact that the majority of the students happen to be fairly wealthy Caucasian females.TCU is made up of a whole community of people who bring forth amazingly different life perspectives and the learning process, regardless of the backgrounds they may have shared. The students support the university, which is clear when you consider the numerous student organizations and athletic clubs, and the number of students who regularly attend football and basketball games. Public speakers and campus-wide debates, which occur frequently here, encourage a constantly evolving thought process and bring the whole student body into an entire new way of thinking.Addison and Randall Clark founded AddRan Male and Female Academy in 1873. AddRan later became TCU and eventually the college moved to Fort Worth. Today, TCU is a 260-acre university, complete with a three-story library, eight different colleges, and some of the finest sports facilities in the nation. The progression from AddRan Male and Female Academy to TCU is an example of the progressive tradition at TCU.
