Inscriptions on the tomb stones and monuments in the grave yards at Whippany and Hanover, Morris County, N.J

Unknown Author
4.9/5 (19541 ratings)
Description:By the authors:The first church erected in Morris County, N.J., was at Whippany, and in the ground about it the earliest settlers of this region were buried. The church was afterwards removed to Hanover, about three miles to the eastward, and subsequently burials were made at both Whippany and around the new church. Genealogists who have traced the families here represented, have had frequent occasion to search for and copy inscriptions on the grave stones found in these cemeteries. To preserve these records from destruction exact copies have been taken, and to make them convenient for examination this pamphlet has been printed. As far as possible, eccentricities of spelling, &c., have been carefully preserved. March 1st 1894.By the publisher:This reproduction was printed from a digital file created at the Library of Congress as part of an extensive scanning effort started with a generous donation from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The Library is please to offer much of its public domain holdings free of charge online and at a modest price in this printed format.
