He attended Mount Carmel High School and Marquette University, where he played for legendary coach Al McGuire. Walton, a 6'0" (1.83 m) point guard, was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1976 and played for the Bucks from 1977 to 1980, and for the Kansas City Kings in 1980-81.
