Description:The book was organized in two major sections. The first section was chapter 1, dealing with the history of the gemstone as far back as the early Egyptian period, about 3,000 BC and into the twentieth century. The second major division begins with chapters 2 through 8 representing the seven major divisions of garnet species. Those chapters also included their scientific descriptions and their worldwide sources. In appendix 1, I included the results of a study of 'Pyrandine' garnets from the Malagasy Republic and Orissa, India. Another research study I did appeared in appendix 2, which was the absorption spectra of various species of garnet, and how that appeared on a spectroscope, helpful to gemologists to identify gemstones.
