The story tracks the lives of Pooja, Prabs, Subhash and Anand from their teenage to their forties. These four friends, who came from different parts of India, met at different stages in their lives and found themselves united by a common vision or dream. What caused them to destroy their own dreams along with their friendship and how, gradually, they were drawn towards their dream like moths to a flame, forms the journey within the story.Education, especially, women's education and its impact on women's lives juxtaposed by the prevalent social norms, is a key theme of this book.
