Word-formation and morphology represent core domains of the language system, constituting the basis of lexical productivity as a central trait of the human language faculty. What is hotly discussed is the ex-act status of morphology in grammar. The debate centers around questions about the autonomy of mor-phological processes and, in particular, if word-formation could, in fact, be fused with syntactic or semantic-conceptual levels of the language system. Against this background, the current volume brings to-gether approaches from different linguistic areas to provide insights to possible answers.
