But the low and deep murmur of those forests, the fog rising and spreading and clasping the breast of the mountains, whose heads were still high and bright in the skies, --all these indicated that a wintry storm was on its wing; that the spirit of the mountain was stirred, and that, ere long, the voice of tempests would be spent. But even this was exciting, --exciting to those of us who were witnesses before, and exciting in itself as an exhibition of the grandeur of natural scenery.
