The Many Lies and Bad Movies of the Life of Bonnie and Clyde: The Biography and Genealogy of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow

Gaylon Barrow
4.9/5 (10357 ratings)
Description:The Grapevine shootings. This one act changed the whole nation's impression and outlook on the two lovers. Since it was during the depression most of the people in the nation held them in high regard. To them, Bonnie and Clyde were fighting their battle against the government for their predicament. Most people had lost jobs, homes, and farms to the banks. Most important they had lost their money with no hope of getting it back. The banks who held loans on mortgaged property had taken their deposited money, investments and property then defaulted, declaring bankruptcy. To them Bonnie and Clyde were young, very much in love which meant they undoubtedly slept together. Illicit sex, this captured the imagination of most all the young people in the nation. To most, this was appealing since it gave relief to the people an appearance of, "in your face, government," for allowing the depression to happen to them. Clyde was also at the time generous to the people he met on the road who were obviously down and out. He gave them money to help them on their way. Not just a few times, but many times. This method also worked in favor of Bonnie and Clyde giving them a chance to rest while the recipients kept a lookout for them. To these people the lovers were heroes. John Q. Public couldn't help, but hold them in high regard. Most had a disdain for the law and this was a way to get even. The shootings of civilians bothered them and also infuriated Clyde. He never wished to kill any civilians unless he was forced to defend himself. The shooting of the two highway patrolmen in Grapevine however, turned the people's alliance away from Bonnie and Clyde because of the untruths highly publicized by the Major Newspaper networks. The two officers had approached the car unarmed. Most likely thinking the driver had car trouble. They were not expecting trouble and had no knowledge of who was in the car. They, in all appearances only wished to offer aid. The older officer was a career officer with over twenty years of service. The other was a rookie having only been on the job less than a year. The young rookie Highway Patrolman left behind a young fiancee. The newspapers suddenly had their story all gift wrapped neatly for them in playing the slayings of the officers up with the conclusion of public opinion being united in wrath against the, "Bloody" Barrow gang." If one would say the, "Newspapers," couldn't have influenced all that. Then think how did the newspaper get one Barrack Obama voted into the White House not only once but now twice? His scandalous doings have been covered up by major networks. So don't say they didn't have influence. The shooting of the young patrolman made nine lawmen with six civilians being shot, who were attributed to Clyde. This could be questioned as W.D. Jones confessed that other members of the gang were shooting also and only a good guess could be made as to who shot who. This was no excuse for Barrow and Bonnie or their gang members which now had shrunk to only one, Henry Methvin. Bonnie and Clyde had choices and the choices made were drastic ones. No one clearly gave Clyde a free ticket to commit the crimes he did. One can make excuses, but this will not hold any value. To choose the route of crime one must pay the price. In this case Clyde and his cohort running buddies had committed horrendous crimes and now the nation wanted justice. The only justice that could prevail to wipe the slate clean was, "death to Bonnie and Clyde." According to Governor Ma Ferguson, (who was so hot in corruption she would have melted a smelting pot), the only conclusion must be death for both, before any reward money would be paid. This may have been the excuse Hamer used after blasting buckshot through the rear window at Bonnie in his walking to Bonnie's side of the car when she was asking for mercy. He emptied his 38 police special into her.We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
