Humanity lives in densely packed cities a top roaming kaiju as monsters roam the surface. The author does a wonderful job at making Tartaruga feel like a lived in location. Mostly through the little details such as descriptions of the restaurants and food, and the sprinkle of gossip and small-town politics.
