Description:Fifteen year old Alena Pavlis, like many teenage school girls, has a crush on her teacher, Mr Stanley Hawthorne. As innocent as this may sound, this is the start of a dangerous and down spiraling path for young Alena. She is a vulnerable young girl who has just lost her father to cancer and is looking for comfort, a shoulder to cry on. It soon becomes clear that this crush, which should be a normal process in a girl's life, has become deadly, whereby Mr Hawthorne capitalises on her grief to groom her for sex and make her feel he is the only one who can take away her pain sexually, by inviting her into his swanky BMW to partake in lewd sexual acts, and into his bed. This intimate relationship with this broken young schoolgirl is not only illegal, but it is wrong of Mr Hawthorne to take advantage of a child who is grieving her dead father and is in turmoil and mixed up emotionally.Mr Hawthorne takes full advantage of his position of power and he abuses his position of trust. He knows Alena is fragile and needs someone to talk to, so he uses her vulnerabilities as a 'way in', and convinces her that his 'love' will change her life forever.He encourages her to keep the affair a secret and lie to her friends and family, so they can continue their illicit liaison behind closed doors. This predatory teacher even lies to the school about giving Alena private lessons, to conceal the relationship. Alena likes the idea of this secret 'fling', but she does not initially understand what the consequences of hiding such a relationship would be and how it would damage her self esteem. Also, her own safety, and what danger she was putting herself in, was not considered at all.No matter how much a child says they enjoy the fun of being involved with an older person, one of their school teachers, they have to understand that it is a abusive relationship, which can be both damaging and harmful and it could go on to scar them emotionally for months, even years after the relationship has ended. These students (victims) can often be convinced by the teacher, the groomer, that they are in a 'loving and fulfilling relationship', but this is not true. An adult cannot desire and lust after a child, and call it love. No, this is abuse. No matter which way you spin the coin, abuse is abuse. The groomer may persuade the student to think otherwise, but really, they are lying to them simply to continue getting pleasure and thrills out of the relationship.Clearly, Alena and Stanley's relationship is not love. In fact, love doesn't even come into the equation. Stanley Hawthorne simply wants to have sexual gratification from sleeping with an underage student, and he likes the excitement of having what he should never have. This, I think, is why some teachers have affairs with students. They get a buzz out of bedding a young person who they are not legally allowed to have.
