From the Land of Ernu

H.K. Kim
4.9/5 (14958 ratings)
Description:The mythical land of Ernu is known across the regions as the land of the women. Tales describe the women there as beautiful, irresistible to men, and deadly. Adventurers, warriors, rogues and the curious have ventured to find Ernu and have never returned. No one can confirm that it really exists. The story opens in Ernu as the bell rings signifying that a male has been caught in their swamp. This new captive, at first, appears inferior – smaller in stature than other males, exhibiting a physical deficiency – and his silent behavior appears strange. Should they follow their traditions and breed with him, or kill him?To Aynesi, the tribe’s Seer, the captive’s arrival brings unsettling dreams. Oddly, she cannot see into his which one of the women he should mate with, where in the Ernu forest they should leave him. But she begins to dream of terrifying visions that shake her whole foundation, visions of blood and warfare, of the possible destruction of their tribe. But, almost against her will, she cannot help but be intrigued and drawn to him. Also, her little daughter starts to exhibit extraordinary gifts of Sight, coinciding with his arrival, and the girl inexplicably develops great affection for the captive. After the mating ceremony, the women take the captive into the Ernu forest. The forest is the place where the spirits of past Ernu women roam, where every young woman must survive as a rite of passage, and a place where men become crazed with desire and become lost forever. Aynesi does not expect to ever see the captive again but when he arrives back in the village a few moons later, it causes uproar amongst the women. What should they do with him? They cannot let him leave Ernu. The captive confides in Aynesi that his wise teacher advised him how to find Ernu and how to survive its bewitching and fatal forest. He tells her that his tribe is in the midst of being besieged by an overlord who intends to enslave his people. His sage teacher commanded him to bring back the Seer of Ernu to protect his tribe and defeat the warrior. As the women discuss what to do with him, Aynesi finds that the captive has escaped and he has taken with him, her daughter. In desperation, she calls upon the spirits of Ernu to help her track him down and recover her little girl. She must leave her native land, travel across treacherous tribes, and fight men with brutal intentions.Traveling with a small band of women, Aynesi begins to realize on her journey that she is the one who is trapped, first by the stifling traditions of her tribe, then by her own fearsome visions. To overcome the dreaded fate she believes are illuminated in her dreams, she must battle to forge a new path for herself and for her daughter. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
