Description:When my grandmother died, my parents found the remnants of a picture book my grandfather had written in 1949 for my father and uncle when they were tiny. It was on worn lined paper with no color, but the vehicles and perspectives were beautifully rendered and the story was sweet and captivating. My grandfather had been an engineer and knew how to draw technical things. The children and the faces on the vehicles were not as well done. The first page of the book was missing and Dad asked me (the writer in the family) to reimagine the start to this sweet tale. Eventually, I decided to do more than that. Using procreate and an iPad, I colored my grandfather's buses and buildings, updated and improved on the children and faces of the vehicles. I also tightened up the story given that picture books are much shorter than they were in the 1940s! This is my first self-published book and created it first and foremost for my family, but I think it came out rather well and would love to share it with any young readers who are fond of transportation stories.Daniel the Double Decker longs to take passengers to the seaside, but he soon finds out that he's too tall to fit under the bridge on the seaside route and is destined only to drive up and down the city streets. But one day, Clarence, the seaside bus, breaks down, leaving a whole class of children stranded.
