Desperately, Toulouse searches for his uncle until he finally realizes that he for some reason must’ve been tricked. Dark reality hits him; he has practically no money and he is stranded in a foreign land with no family and no way to go home.Toulouse eventually finds work as a mail courier for the Stallion Express. This work proves to be rigorous and dangerous. He soon grows bitter because of his negative circumstances, and becomes cold. However, something else was in store for him, something that would change his life even more than when he traveled to America.This story is one that features endearing characters, plot twists, and mysteries. This book explores different kinds of relationships. It also features aspects of American history in the 19th century such as the sending of telegraphs and the Transcontinental Railway. The characters in this book are from different backgrounds and walks of life. Some of the places mentioned in this book are real while others are fictional.This novel is a delight to read.
