Although it was brutally crushed by Tito and his hard-line followers in the Communist Party, the movement exposed to the world the true nature of Yugoslavia and its oppressive regime, dominated by Serbian interests. In December of 1988, the author pointed out that Belgrade’s dangerous dreams, if not checked, would become nightmares for everyone in the region.
