When baby prince Tut is born, Horemheb vows to protect the boy with his life. As the prince grows up, General Horemheb now becomes an affectionate and father the boy-king never had. Tut's grandfather has his own strong ambition for the throne, and he takes advantage of Horemheb's absence with the army in the north. He arranges for an unfortunate accident to end the life of the 19 year old pharaoh. During one of the royal hunts, a wheel on the young pharaoh’s favorite chariot is weakned, and when it strikes a rock, he is thrown to the ground and run over by one of the wheels of his golden chariot. When Horemheb returns from the war in the north, and discovers his adopted son is dead and buried, he vows to avenge Pharaoh’s murder. Lord Ai, Tut’s grandfather had the young pharaoh buried in the small tomb he was building for himself. As fate would have it, his choice of tomb would guarantee Tut’s tomb would be preserved until the modern age. The final encounter between Ai and Horemheb determines the future of the Eighteenth Dynasty. Horemheb ascends to the throne, and his reign will bring an end to the glorious Eighteen Dynasty.
