My beta reading group and I were supposed to edit chapters, but we read this instead, and we smiled the whole way through. In light of a full review, I went back and re-read everything, just to get a feel for the story, and I was still so blown away by the sheer skill this shows.From the first paragraph onward, I was hooked by the narrative voice, which is an enjoyable and often humorous presence. Likewise, I was hooked by Beatrice, whose plight and personality are equal parts natural and fun to read. The other characters, such as the artist, the elusive husband, and yes- even the Woman With The Winged Turban, are intriguing to read and learn more about.The writing itself does something that you seriously should be proud of. It just flows. There is never a hiccup or break in which I was taken out of the story. And with the minimal of dialogue this has, that is enviously good. I'm an impatient reader sometimes, and I have put down published novels for waxing too long, but the narrator actually kept me wanting to read. Not just the story, but the prose itself, made this absolutely fantastic and worthy of reading over again.I hope for a continuation, whether it is published here or elsewhere.
