"What times," says he, "are coming on the earth we know not; but the general expectation of persons of all characters, in all nations, is an instinct implanted by God, to warn us of a coming storm." A very different character - even the Prime Minister of our country some time ago assured his constituents that "The signs of a storm are black in the horizon." A high dignitary of our Church stated to his clergy that we "live in one of those periods which are called Eras in the history of the world." The Archdeacon of York, in the recent charge, allows that "certainly we have fallen on days full of perplexity and alarm." Surely, what so many look for must be near at hand, and many months may not elapse, before we are in the very midst of the Coming Conflict."
