Cannon, M.D. (Harvard University).Lieut.-Col. T. R. Elliott, M.D., F.R.S., E.A.M.C.John Fraser, M.D., F.R.C.S. (Edin.).Prof. A. N. Richards, Ph.D. (University of Pennsylvania).Prof. C. S. Sherrington, M.D., Sc.D., F.R.S.Col. Cuthbert Wallace, C.M.G., F.R.C.S.H. H. Dale, M.D., F.R.S. (Secretary). The first report on "Intravenous Injections to Replace Blood" was published as a special Bulletin, Nov. 25, 1917. The second, on "Investigation of the Nature and Treatment of Wound Shock and Allied Conditions," which follows, was issued for official use, Dec. 25, 1917, and Sir Walter Fletcher, secretary of the Medical Research Committee, has given his consent to the publication of the papers in The Journal, as has also the military censor. In sending the report, Dr. Cannon writes: "The work was done in a casualty clearing station a few miles from a part of the line where there has been constant fighting for three years with scarcely any change. Only the most serious cases which could not be reasonably moved any farther back were left with us for the town was repeatedly shelled and the station was twice bombed by aeroplanes during my stay.
