Description:Excerpt from A Book of Recollections, Vol. 1 of 2 On 14th January, 1831, I was born at Framlingham, in the Woodland of Suffolk, the second son and ninth child of William Jeaffreson, surgeon, (M.R.C.S. 1812, and F.R.C.S. 1844, ) of Framlingham aforesaid, and of his wife, Caroline Jeaffreson, nee Edwards, youngest child of George and Anne Edwards, of the same small, picturesque, and historic market-town. When I look at the list of the young men whom I knew intimately at Oxford, but have not seen since 1852, the year in which I took my B.A. degree, I fail to recall clearly their features, voices, or aught else of their respective personalities.
