Description:I have written a number of speculative articles that have passed for science (although some would challenge that). However, I believe that my efforts have had very little impact on the scientific community as science. It occurred to me that perhaps some science fiction readers might be interested in the plots that unfold from my ideas, even if the ideas themselves are not part of this universe. Thus, late in 2013, I decided to present some of my ideas as science fiction (in short story form) as entertainment rather than scientific analysis. I have been much impressed with Jules Vern, Sinclair Lewis (e.g., Arrowsmith), H.G. Wells, and Isaac Asimov. I believe their strengths as science fiction writers was that they closely followed real scientific developments and then wrote stories that took that science one step farther. I distinguish this sort of story-telling from the complete waste-of-time (in my opinion) world of fantasy, which many authors make up as they go with little or no actual knowledge of science. In these fantasy worlds “surprise” is always available by introducing indescribable characters that have undefinable powers. I have not bothered to read any of that stuff, but I gather that the whole of the vastly popular Harry Potter series or Middle Earth is of that nature. These are brought to life by skilled writers who target the emotions and ignorance of the reading public. More power to them, may they live long and die rich. But, I cannot imagine spending an hour with someone who reads or writes that stuff. The stories contained herein are as follows: Virtually Me----An inquiry into the nature of reality The Day the Neutrino Died----A rant about particle physics and the influence of personality on science The Killing Zone----A rant about the origin of pandemics and medical ethics Space Travel at the Speed of Light----How space travel will be accomplished at the speed of light in the next 100 years The Genome and Genealogy of Homo magnum----We are done with natural selection, the future is hereWe have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
