The Siege

Charlie Flowers
4.9/5 (25936 ratings)
Description:5 FLOORS. 6 TERRORISTS. 26 HOSTAGES. AND ONE MAN ON THE INSIDE... It’s 1980 and Captain David Mahoney is preparing to jump from a plane into Iran. Far to the north the Americans are readying their hostage rescue mission. But the British have problems of their own. Khorramshahr is boiling over into revolt and Mahoney’s best man is down there - Tariq Ismail. The descent goes to plan and the next morning Mahoney and Tariq arrive at a safe house in the city to brief each other on new developments. Mahoney, an ex SAS officer now working in the Intelligence Corps Specialist Intelligence Wing, has trained Tariq from a young age. Working on the ground as a spy in Iran, Tariq joins the Democratic Revolutionary Front for the Liberation of Khuzestan. Through his involvement with the group he has gained information on ‘the fox’, Sami Mohammed Ali, Saddam Hussein’s intelligence chief. Mahoney orders Tariq to run with the DRFLA’s plan to send a handful of members to Europe for an undisclosed mission, and to inform him of any developments as soon as they occur. Tariq is sent with fellow terrorists to Heathrow to carry out an attack - on the Iranian Embassy in Kensington. Trying not to raise suspicion from his DRFLA comrades, he attempts to get in touch with British Intelligence and inform Mahoney of his message. After jumping through curious covert protocol Tariq gets through to the service. They register his information but how is Tariq going to be able to get away from the terrorists? How will the incoming SAS team be able to recognise he isn’t a terrorist and is actually a spy for the British? Will Mahoney and his team succeed in their rescue mission - or will the Iranian Embassy be destroyed? The Siege is a thrilling military spy novel. Set in the 1980s, in Margaret Thatcher’s London, it touches on pre 9/11 Arab relations and international terrorism. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
