He no doubt had reference to classic literature and contemporary art. The subject of Dental Surgery at this date offers a wide field, and while the paper I shall read is by no means such as I would have, it at least has the merit of originality. At no time in the world's history has science had so many votaries, nor success in gleaning from its fields been so pronounced and attended with so much that tends to keep ever turning the wheels of progress.
