The present volume, compiled from the series of holiday poetry booklets, is an attempt to meet this need. The proceeds derived from the publication of both book and booklets are used to increase the Student Loan Fund of the Carnegie Library School Association. We are most grateful to the authors and publishers who have so generously permitted copyright material to be used, to Miss Dorothy Grout, who has given so freely of her time and effort and to Miss Elva S. Smith, former president of the Association for her valued advice and help. The members of the poetry committee, whose careful work and interest in this undertaking have made the compilation pos sible, are as follows Mary Wilkinson, Jasmine Britton, Dorothy Grout, Grace Darling, Alice Stoeltzing and Dorothy Hayes.
