Description:Excerpt from The Visitation of the County of Buckingham: Made in 1634 by John Philipot, Esq., Somerset Herald, and William Ryley, Bluemantle Pursuivant, Marshals and Deputies, to Sir Richard St. George, Knight, Clarenceux, and Sir John Borough, Knight, Garter, Who Visited as Norroy by Mutual Agreement The text may be called a short copy, many little items having been left out. As a check I have used two other seventeenth-century copies of the Visitation. One a ms. Formerly in the library of Peter 1e Neve, bearing the title, Copie of the Visitation of Bucks 1634 - No. 613 (twelfth Day) of the sale catalogue, 1731 - and the other lettered on the back Visitation of Bucks, which, from want of a better name, has been quoted as ms. No. 2. They are both fair copies, and all the additions from them are printed in ordinary type within round brackets, or in the case of an entire pedigree the authority is given. Other pedigrees have been added from the ms. In the College of Arms, 1 and 2, C. 26, in order to complete the Visitation of 1634. The pedigrees are here arranged in alphabetical order for convenience. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
