Description:I heard a minister on television yesterday say something that brought this need to my attention. There was a young man who had a dad who lived vicariously through his son. The dad pushed the son to be the best athlete he could be, but when it came to anything other than that, the dad did not teach the young man. The young man had an odor - and the minister asked the young man how he showered. He said he stood in the shower and washed his hair, then let the water rinse him and he was through. He never was taught how to shower. When the leader explained to him how to shower, the young man's smell went away, he was then embraced by others, and is now married. Wow. Then, I see a need in my own home as I take care of my 86-year-old mom. I see the things we take for granted, slipping away. I see the need to write this to remind those who fight to keep their mental alertness, how to shower, brush your teeth, the look of toothpaste, the need to show and tell, for these things somehow become forgotten. I have seen the deodorant put on the neck instead of under the arms. Therefore, I see a need for a reminder on how to keep ourselves in a clean body because these are the hard things to tell another when we begin to smell the one or notice the one we love has forgotten.
