Without thought that this latter is possible, it may be well to consider some of the changes - fermentations - go ing on in medicine, now, as in all previous stages of its history. To see what elements of good have come, and perhaps to forecast some of what may be hoped for when the end results are reached. One of the most impressive incidents in a recent trip abroad, occurred in Paris upon the occasion of a visit to the Institute Pasteur. The spirit of the place is present everywhere - the spirit of earnest search for some addition to human knowledge, for some alleviation of human suffer ing, inculcated in all his pupils by the master mind of the founder.
