Dabei ist Old Crow der nordlichste Ort; er liegt am Zusammenfluss von Yukon und Porcupine. Die vier Mackenzie-Gruppen werden vom Gwich'in Tribal Council (GCI) in den Verhandlungen mit der kanadischen Regierung um Landanspruche vertreten. Zudem fordert die Organisation internationale Kontakte rund um die Arktis, sowie Kulturinitiativen. Die Teetl'it Zheh oder Fort McPherson leben am Peel River und sind die grosste Gruppe im Nordwest-Territorium. Ihr Name bedeutet Volk vom Oberlauf."
