Description:This book is an abridgement of the first English language translation of the famous Tibetan death text, 'The Great Liberation upon Hearing in the Intermediate State.' Also known as the 'Bardo Thodol' which means "liberation by hearing on the after death plane," and most famously as 'The Tibetan Book of the Dead.' It was originally written in the Tibetan language and is meant to be a guide for those who have died as they transition from their former life to a new destination. The work has been traditionally attributed to Padma-Sambhava, an Indian mystic who was said to have introduced Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. Legend has it that while visiting Tibet, Padma-Sambhava found it necessary to conceal Sanskrit works he had arranged to be written. The Tibetans of that time were not ready for the spiritual teachings contained therein, so he hid his texts in strange and remote locations, leaving them to be discovered at a later time when their spiritual message could be received by those with an open mind. 'Guidebook for the Dead' is a spiritual how-to communication manual between a Guide, who reads aloud portions of the 'Guidebook of the Dead,' and the spirit of the deceased, whether the body is present or not. The role of the Guide is to help the departed spirit throughout the forty-nine days of Afterlife existence. For the sake of understanding, all but one of the ancient Sanskrit terms and proper names of the original are adapted into contemporary English. 'Karma,' a concept not easily grasped in any language, remains. It is generally defined as the set of all past actions performed by an individual throughout the course of many lives which impacts upon the individual's future. Understanding karma is essential. Does the Guidebook actually work? Can it help the spirits of the dead enter Eternal Paradise? Or, if reborn, improve future lives? Reading the 'Guidebook for the Dead' can certainly do no harm. It may, possibly, do a great deal of good.We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
