And was rechartered as Southwestern Baptist University. 'adams Hall was erected in i89s and '96, Lovelace Hall in '97, and Powell Chapel in '99. In i9o7, the name of the institution was changed from Southwestern Baptist University to Union University, In I9I2. Tire de stroyed Powell Chapel and the main building, and in I9I2 the present administration and chapel building was erected and named Barton haii. In 927 hall-moody Junior College, Martinl Tennessee. Was consolidated with Union. Since its founding, Union has had thirteen presidents; and eight professors 'who served twenty years or more. Fur thermore.
