Description:Excerpt from Der Briefwechsel des Conradus Mutianus, Vol. 1 of 2Der Druck des d104es wurde bereits in den Jahren i884 - 1886 fertig gestellt, aber die Ausgabe konnte nicht erfolgen, weil der Herausgeber sich durch mancherlei Umst�nde verhindert sah, die Einleitung zu vollenden. So trat eine Ver z�gerung ein, bis Herr Dr. Gillert, zuletzt Gymnasiallehrer in Barmen, am 8. Oktober 1889 durch einen fr�hzeitigen 'tod hinweggerafft wurde. In seinem Nachlasse fanden sich das Vor wort und ein Bruchst�ck einer Biographie Mutians vor, welches den gr�ssten Teil von dessen Leben umfasst. Leider war es nicht tunlich, einen andern Gelehrten zu gewinnen welcher das Begonnene zum hatte Schluss f�hren k�nnen; ausserdem schien es nicht ratsam, die Ausgabe des d104es noch l�nger hinaus zuschieben. Die Historische Commission hat sich daher ent schlossen, die Arbeit Gilletts, soweit sie reicht, zu ver�ffentlichen, denn obgleich ihr die letzte Feile fehlt, durfte sie auch in ihrer anfertigen Gestalt nicht ohne Wert sein.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
