The new Kingdom under William I immediately got to do with the war of independence of the Spanish colonies in South America. Representatives of rebel leader Simon Bolívar tried to buy weapons and recruit volunteers. In 1819 became the Republic of great Colombia. William I was the first and only King of great-Netherlands, Bolívar the first and only president of greater Colombia. Both the Kingdom succumbed in 1830 as the Republic to their internal disputes and with it came an end to mutual relations and to Walker chance to his Kingdom as a great power on the map.
