Description:Not Flowers for Charlie tells the story of ten-year-old Seymour Chilton and Charlotte Bradshaw, as seen from Seymour's perspective. After the bitter divorce of his parents in 1960, he moves with his father and two brothers to an apartment building on the outskirts of Los Angeles, near the Angeles National Forest. He is in the process of building a sturdy wall around himself, when he meets eight-year-old Charlotte Bradshaw. Shortly, the two become best friends and, in time, their families merge. This is a story of great carefreeness and deep, personal loss. As an adult, he often reflects on the past through the eyes of his own children, making a comparison of the times, and astonished at how much the world has changed since he and Charlie roamed so freely through the streets of L.
