After moving to New York, Jobe worked at getting published while Jessica waited tables at the corner diner. After five years of rejections Jobe was ready to call it quits. Jessica’s love kept him going. It was Christmas Eve and there was no money for gifts, save for the love they shared. It was a love strong enough to hold them together however it would soon be a love strong enough to tear them apart. That night Jessica awoke screaming, having foreseen Jobe’s death. Shortly after that fateful night, Jobe published his first novel and then the other four. He told Jessica that he wanted them to go home, back to Louisiana. Jessica knew that if he went back, her vision would become a reality. She moved out, taking an apartment not far away, knowing that Jobe would never leave New York as long as she was there. When Jessica started seeing for people, she encountered Shannon, a hit man for the mob. When she foresaw his death, he became obsessed with knowing more. When Jessica refused to see for him again, he threatened Jobe. She knew she had to get away. She made two phone calls. One her mother and other to Jobe. She left her mother a message explaining her situation. When she called Jobe and there was no answer, she just hung up. Upon investigating the phone call, Jobe went to Jessica’s apartment, only to find Shannan dead and a map Jessica left him of a place in the Louisiana bayou. It was a place where not even Cajuns would dare to enter. As he was leaving, he sensed and evil presence approaching. Peering through the window from the fire escape he saw a man in a pinstriped suit approach the door to Jessica’s apartment. The man turned and removed his sunglasses, revealing eyes of glowing molten lava. Jobe knew his course was set. He would have to return to the bayou and find Jessica.
