Therefore, this study will help to ABC Company to recap their operations management activities and also to acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge about the operation management concepts. Here, ABC Company which is one of the manufacturing facilities of XYZ multinational corporation (MNC), is an industrial glove manufacturing company in Sri Lanka.The final chapter is a research study which is focusing on the factors which are affecting on effective implementation of lean system in the glove manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka. Over the past decades, Lean Manufacturing is become as trending approach among manufacturing industries in the world. It is commonly used to eliminating the wastes from the manufacturing operations without sacrificing productivity through a systematic way. Here, Sri Lankan glove manufacturing industry is one of the top manufactures of the world. But, rubber products exports declined significantly over the last few years according to Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s report. On the other hand, the regional players are doing well while the Sri Lankan glove manufacturing industry is struggling with fluctuations in commodity prices, non-availability of raw materials, and labour shortages. Therefore, Sri Lankan glove manufacturers should adapt to best manufacturing practices to sustain in the rapidly growing glove markets such as health care, industrial, pharmaceutical and food handling sectors. In this study, eight lean implementation factors were selected from previous studies which had done by various scholars in various countries. Employee’s skills and expertise, organizational culture, financial capability, top management commitment and support, effective communication system, leadership and management style, linking lean to the business strategy, and complicated process and product design were chosen as independent factors which are affecting on effective lean implementation.
