This desire to educate myself led me to the realization that the hydrosol, the liquid byproduct of producing essential oils should be sitting right next to the essential oil in importance. The Hydrosol has the same beneficial properties as the essential oil, only in a much milder form, which can be applied directly on the skin and is safe for pets and children. The hydrosols uses are unlimited.The history of aromatherapy and its place in ancient times is mentioned in the book, however the books main focus is on the chosen herbs we grow and harvest to steam distill, producing hydrosols as our ultimate goal.The reader will follow our journey discovering which herbs to choose, where to plant them, how to keep them healthy, growing to their potential and walk through the process of how each individual herb is uniquely harvested and distilled.
