The class news was thus kept pretty well up to date until 1910. when the regular Fourth Report was at last issued. The delay was due partly to illness, partly to an amazingly inefficient printer, and partly to a desperate attempt to produce a report which should be technically "complete"-containing a personal reply from every man on the active list of the class. Seductive but unattainable ideal! After weary months spent in exhausting every means I could devise to secure answers, I was forced to put some men on the "retired list" as incorrigihles, and go to press without them after all. In the present volume I have not tried any such drag-net methods. During the past six mouths I have sent out a couple of sots of notifications and a few "rush" postals. Classmates who felt sufficiently interested to answer any of these appear in the following pages. None others need apply.
