John Banister (d.1787) was the son of John Banister the famous English botanist who had immigrated to Virginia; John (d.1787) served with the colonists during the Revolutionary War, married twice, and died in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. George Braxton (fl.1720) immigrated from England to King William County, Virginia; one of his sons (Carter Braxton) signed the Declaration of Independence.
